Lao Niu Foundation Participated in 4th Cross-Straits, Hong Kong and Macau Philanthropy Symposium 20

During January 15 to 17, “4th Cross-Straits, Hong Kong and Macau Philanthropy Symposium” with the theme of “collaboration, innovation and professional services” was held in Macau. This symposium was sponsored by Foundation Macau, China Charity Alliance, Taiwan NPO Self-Regulation Alliance, Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation, Loving Family Foundation, and Faculty of Social Science, Hong Kong University; and supported by Ting Hsin Foundation.

Mr. Niu Gensheng, Founder and Honorary President of our Foundation, participated upon invitation and represented China Charity Alliance to deliver a speech for this symposium with Dr. Wu Zhiliang (President of Board of Administration, Foundation Macau), Professor Feng Yen (Council President of Taiwan NPO Self-Regulation Alliance),  Mr. Yen Po-wen (CEO of Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation), Mr. Yu Zong-ze (President of Loving Family Foundation), and Dr. Chan Yu (Deputy Director of Excel 3 Project, Faculty of Social Science, Hong Kong University).

About 300 philanthropists, experts, and scholars from Cross-Straits, Hong Kong and Macau participated in this symposium and had discussion about hot topics such as the inheritance and innovation of Chinese charity culture, the complementary relationship between private NPO services and government functions, capacity building and supervision of NPO, familization and internationalization of Chinese charities, management of social organizations, and procurement of government services & NPO cooperation, etc. Wang Yonghong (Administrative Director of our Foundation), An Yaqiang (Deputy Secretary-General), Jia Lei (Director of Secretariat) attended upon invitation; and An Yaqiang (Deputy Secretary-General) represented our Foundation to participated in the sharing and discussion on “familization and internationalization of Chinese charities”.

In addition, the symposium also organized guests to visit Lady of Mercy Home for the Elderly, Abundant Joy Family Support Center of the General Association of Women of Macau, Little Dolphin Nursery of Macau Women’s General Association, U-Do Center of General Association of Chinese Students of Macau, Creative Art House and Happy Market Social Enterprise of Fuhong Society of Macau and other outstanding local charities with distinctive Macau characteristics.
