On January 25, it was jointly organized by ACEF, the Belt and Road Green Development International Alliance, the Belt and Road Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Center (Shenzhen), and the Beijing Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Center. In his keynote report, IRENA Director General Francesco Lacamella said the world must significantly accelerate the deployment of renewable energy, storage and renewable fuels. Achieving global commitments will require stronger policy action, investment, and global cooperation.

Mr. Tu Ruihe, Representative of the United Nations Environment Programme in China, said in the keynote report: "In last December, at COP28, the Framework Convention on Climate Change, delegates agreed on a roadmap to 'transition away from fossil fuels', and there is now widespread recognition among governments and stakeholders that we need to take urgent and more effective action to implement and implement the agreed targets. In particular, the Belt and Road countries will share the achievements and good practices of green and low-carbon development, improve environmental quality, and make positive contributions to tackling the three global environmental crises of climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution and waste, and promote the process of global sustainable development."

Belt and Road Roundtable on Green Development


A roundtable on Belt and Road Green Development was also held during the opening ceremony. H.e. In the afternoon, the theme forum on International ecological industry Cooperation was held, and exchanges were carried out under the theme of "International cooperation under the background of carbon peak and carbon neutrality", aiming to deepen the cooperation on the goal of "double carbon" by sharing the achievements and practical experience of green and low-carbon development.

The demonstration project is to accelerate the realization of the "double carbon" goal, around our country to build a green low-carbon circular economic system, effectively reduce the cost of resources and environment development, aimed at earnestly implementing the Party Central Committee and The State Council on carbon peak, carbon neutral decision-making deployment, promote carbon reduction and green growth, help promote the realization of the "double carbon" goal.

On the 26th, a number of parallel forums were held, including the "Belt and Road" ecological Environment Governance and Cooperation Forum, the "Belt and Road" Urban Carbon neutral Development Forum Empowered by public welfare forces, the "Belt and Road" Green Technology Innovation Cooperation and Exchange Forum, and the "Belt and Road" Agricultural Soil Green low-carbon Restoration Seminar.

It is reported that since the forum was held, it has received attention and recognition from relevant countries and departments of the "Belt and Road". All participants of the Forum agreed that China actively promotes green development cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and has made positive contributions to the sustainable development of the country. We look forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with China in clean energy, green infrastructure, solid waste management and carbon emission reduction, jointly addressing global environmental challenges and implementing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Nearly 500 representatives from relevant departments and embassies of Belt and Road countries, UN agencies, relevant ministries, local governments, research institutions and enterprises attended the forum.
