Aid for Poverty Alleviation, Lao Niu Foundation Won “2017 Outstanding Contribution Award"

On March 26, 2017 CFPA Annual Donor Meeting was held in Beijing with the theme of “Focus on Profound Poverty and Aid for Poverty Alleviation”. Wei Tieying, Project Officer of our Foundation, received the “2017 Outstanding Contribution Award” on behalf of our Foundation.

Nearly 300 people attended the meeting, including representatives of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) donation organizations and individuals, partner representatives, and media reporters. Hong Tianyun, Deputy Director of the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, and Li Bo, Inspector of Social Organization Administration Bureau of Ministry of Civil Affairs, participated in the meeting and delivered speeches; and Zheng Wenkai, CFPA President, delivered a speech. The meeting broadcast a video of 2017 CFPA Work Report, Liu Wenkui, CFPA Vice President and Secretary General, released CFPA’s work plan for participating in poverty alleviation from 2018 to 2020.

Since 2007, our Foundation has been conducting in-depth cooperation with CFPA in poverty alleviation. So far, our Foundation has donated more than 10 million yuan to CFPA and cooperated for “Poor day of the country”poverty alleviation activity, orphan assistance, Lao Niu Bridge, drought relief in southwest China, and reconstruction for Ludian earthquake, etc., having more than 70,000 beneficiaries accumulatively.

 

Poverty alleviation is one of our Foundation’s focuses. Over the years, our Foundation has been focusing on “targeted poverty alleviation and disaster relief" to carry out 72 public welfare projects including Treatment for Patients with Cataracts (I can see), Deaf Children Assistance (I can hear), Sunshine Walking Assistance (standing up), Lao Niu Rural Bridge, Lao Niu Relief Fund for Impoverished Mothers, and Lao Niu Disaster Resistance, Disaster Relief and Post-Disaster Reconstruction Projects, etc. with the cumulative expenditures of nearly 199 million yuan. Our Foundation has been actively responding to the Party and the nation’s strategic deployment of “targeted poverty alleviation”, making unremitting efforts to improve people’s livelihood, combat poverty, and build a well-off society in an all-round way.
