On the morning of January 24, the 5th Session of 2nd Board of Directors of Laoniu Children’s Discovery Museum of China National Children’s Center was held in Beijing. Cong Zhongxiao (Party Secretary of China National Children’s Center), Yuan Lixin (Director of China National Children’s Center), Lei Yongsheng (Executive Director and Secretary-General of our Foundation, video participant), Zhang Ni (Executive Deputy Director of Children’s Museum Research Center, China Philanthropy Research Institute, Beijing Normal University), Wang Xiujiang (Head of  Activity Department and Curator of Laoniu Children’s Discovery Museum with China National Children’s Center) and other directors participated in this session; An Yaqiang (Deputy Secretary-General of our Foundation), Pang Xiaoyuan (Senior Project Manager, video participant), Li Zhongming (Deputy Director of China National Children’s Center), and Zhao Yaqin (Deputy Curator of Laoniu Children’s Discovery Museum with China National Children’s Center) also attended.

Participants in the session deliberated and adopted 2017 Operation Report & Financial Report of Laoniu Children’s Discovery Museum of China National Children’s Center, 2018 Operation Plan of Laoniu Children’s Discovery Museum of China National Children’s Center and other proposals. In 2017, Laoniu Children’s Discovery Museum of China National Children’s Center opened 308 days safely, received 174,000 person-times of visitors including about 3,000 with free admission; it organized 77 times of group activities for 67 organizations with the total number of visitors reaching 15,311 person-times; combining with the exhibition venues as well as R&D all year long, it conducted 909 events of 199 education activities with more than 30,000 person-time attendances, and passed on educational philosophy of the museum through various characteristic education activities.

In 2018, Laoniu Children’s Discovery Museum of China National Children’s Center will set foot on previous year’s work, improve the function building of the pavilion, thoroughly explore the ideology, humanistic spirit, and ethical norms contained in the outstanding Chinese traditional culture, strengthen confidence of Chinese culture, and continue promotion of its customized education activities to build “a beautiful museum for children”.
